Training is what Gilbert Stockdogs is all about. We take in dogs for Cowdog training as well as obedient training. Our goal with Cowdog training is to train the "Complete Cowdog" that excels in the pasture, feedlot, and trial settings. We train dogs for all levels of use. From the beginner, the rancher with a few cows to several hundred, feedlots, or Stockdog Trials. Each and every dog is important to us and we want to help you obtain your goals.
Cost for training is very dependant upon the dog!!! Plan on a month training when you bring your dog. It usually takes the first month to get your dog to take up with me, begin training, and get used to its new surroundings. How long will training take??? That is the million dollar question and why I can't answer how much training will cost! ***PLEASE CALL ME TO GET MONTHLY TRAINING COST***We will evaluate your dog within the first month and will be able to answer that question at that time. All dogs are different, how much the dogs knows prior to training, and what the owners expectations are. We start with basic obedient training with each dog and that consists of Here (getting the dog to come to me), Heel (getting the dog to follow me, behind me, with out running all over the place), Load up (getting in a vehicle, UTV, or the kennel), and Down (laying down on command). Once we have a "handle" on the dog the fun begins.
We will communicate with you through the evaluation process how your dog is progressing. Not all dogs make cowdogs, but after the 30 days you will have a well behaved, obedient pet that you will enjoy being around.
